Bond Connect

A mutual market access scheme that allows investors from mainland China and Hong Kong to trade bonds in each other's markets. Launched in 2017 with northbound trading (international investors accessing mainland bonds through Hong Kong), southbound trading was added in 2021. It reinforces Hong Kong's role as a gateway for international capital into China's bond market.
